We’ll talk about Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Affinity Groups (AGs), as well as training, internal conversations, cultural moment celebrations, and things that people are able to do even without having formalized ERGs.

About Our Speaker

Currently, Kirya Francis is the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for Omnicom Advertising Collective & Omnicom Commerce Group, representing seventeen different Advertising, Design, Public Relations, and Production agencies. In this role, Francis has merged her passion for making an inclusive workplace with her purpose to give all talent an equitable chance at excelling in the advertising industry.

Francis earned three degrees from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Radio-TV-Film and a BJ in Broadcast Journalism as well as a master’s degree from UT-McCombs.

As the first Black president of the 2nd largest local chapter of the American Advertising Foundation, Francis was honored to be a part of the the inaugural District 10 Mosaic Stars Class for that organization. She was also named one of the “Women to Watch” by Diversity Professional Magazine.

While in her VP of DE&I role at GSD&M, she established nine Employee Resource Groups as well as a proprietary DE&I small-batch educational program that won several national awards for Workforce Inclusion. She appeared on panels for AAF National, Texas Conference for Women, the 3% Conference, UT Austin, TX State, Rackspace, and National Instruments. She also has been on the judge’s panel for UT-Austin, AAF as well as ADCOLOR.
